Davide Grossi, Italian farmer, tells us about his experience with digitanimal GPS collars.

In the heart of Italy, amidst green pastures and rolling hills, lies the farm of Davide, a passionate 43-year-old cattle farmer who has dedicated his life to the care and management of an organic Limousine cattle herd. With a farming tradition that spans three generations, Davide and his brother Matteo have kept this family legacy alive, facing the challenges of managing a Limousin cattle herd of 80 animals.

A Persistent Problem: The Location of Livestock

For many years, Davide’s biggest concern was the location of his livestock. ‘The main problem related to my business was the location of the cattle, which, as you know, is very time-consuming and costly, forcing you to go out and try,’ Davide explains. The constant search and monitoring of the herd was not only exhausting, but also costly, both in terms of time and economic resources, especially fuel.

The Solution: Digitanimal Collars

Two years ago, Davide discovered gps collars for cows, a technological innovation that completely transformed the way he managed his herd. ‘Fortunately, two years ago I discovered digitanimal GPS collars and my life changed both from a logistical-organisational and management point of view,’ he says.

With the Digitanimal collars, Davide can monitor the location and movements of his animals. ‘Now I am constantly updated on the herd’s position and movements, optimising search times, fuel costs have decreased and I have more free time to organise my days with greater freedom and serenity,’ he says.

The implementation of the gps devices for cows has not only improved operational efficiency, but has also given Davide greater peace of mind.
