- “We/our” refers to Digitanimal.
- “Third party” means a third person or entity other than you and Digitanimal.

Our principles
Respect for your privacy and the confidentiality of your personal data is of paramount importance to us, which is why we wish to provide you with full transparency regarding how we may process your personal data, so that you can make an informed decision on the matter. We therefore ask that you take a few moments to read this Data Protection Policy.
The main objective of our Data Protection Policy is to ensure full compliance with current legislation on data protection and privacy, and to guarantee the security of the processing of your personal data required to fulfil the commercial relationships we maintain with our customers and stakeholders.
What personal data do we process and how do we obtain it?
In order to provide you with Digitanimal’s services and products, and to enable you to use them, we need to know your identification and contact details. Furthermore, if you are a customer of any of our products or services, we will need to include in our databases all the information necessary to enable you to make appropriate use of our products and services in line with expectations. Specifically, these are:
- Your name, address, telephone number and/or mobile number, date of birth, gender and email address;
- Your credit or debit card details, your bank account details and other banking information.
- Your traffic data. We use this data to provide you with an ever-improving animal tracking and monitoring service, and to introduce new features and improve the accuracy of alerts and notifications.
- Your location data. This may be accurate when you use Global Positioning System (GPS) data or location information based on nearby mobile phone cells and Wi-Fi access points, and it enables us to provide you with location-based services. To a lesser degree of accuracy, we may be able to determine your location by using your IP address or details such as your postcode or town.
- Your personal data obtained through any contact you make with us and recorded in the transcript of a call you make to one of our call centres, if you use live chat to resolve issues, if you send an email or a letter, or any other record of contact with us;
- Your customer account details, such as payment dates for outstanding or received invoices, dates on which services were activated or deactivated, subscriptions to services you use, and information relating to your account or accessible via the ‘Customer Area’;
- Credential information, such as passwords and usernames, used to access our accounts and services.
- We also collect information from certain organisations where appropriate and to the extent that we have a lawful basis for doing so. These include fraud prevention agencies, credit reference agencies and network providers.
We will not collect or process information relating to minors, nor any information that may be classified as particularly sensitive, such as health, sexual orientation, trade union membership, religion or race.
The ways in which we become aware of and collect personal data:
- Through you yourselves, with your consent, when you request information or register as a Digitanimal customer in order to receive or use our services or products, or when you request commercial information. Without this consent, it is not possible to establish this relationship. In other words, when you purchase or use any of our products and services.
- When you sign up for any of the subscriptions on our website to receive information, promotional offers or even to send us your CV, you do so with your consent. In other words, when you subscribe to newsletters, alerts or other services.
- When you contact us at any of Digitanimal’s offices or via any of its channels, or at meetings, conferences, events, etc., and you have expressed an interest in finding out more about us, by giving your consent.
- We may receive information via third parties with whom we have some form of commercial agreement. In such cases, we will always contact you to inform you of our data protection policy and to find out your preferences regarding the processing of your data. We have a legitimate interest in knowing which individuals are interested in Digitanimal’s products and services, so that we can tailor our offering to the needs of those interested and our customers.
- When you visit or browse our website or other websites belonging to the Digitanimal Group.
- When your information is publicly available and its use is permitted by law.
- We collect and process suppliers’ data in the course of our business dealings, for the purpose of fulfilling contracts.

For what purpose do we process personal data?
Your personal data will be processed in accordance with the purpose for which you have provided it:
- To enter into a contract with us and enable its subsequent performance, in accordance with the service provided, and in particular geolocation, the collection of user data via the app, and the consolidation of information. To process your order and provide you with your products and services, as well as to keep you informed of the progress of your order. . This may include third-party services not covered by your contract with us (for example, PayPal).
- For the analysis of anonymised and aggregated information (Big Data) generated from the data obtained. We use a variety of analytical methods, including what is commonly known as ‘Big Data’. Big Data is a mathematical technique that enables the analysis of large volumes of data to identify previously undiscovered patterns and trends. At Digitanimal, we take this type of analysis very seriously; it is governed by the principle of full compliance with current regulations and respect for the principle of transparency. In these analyses, we use only anonymised and aggregated data, so that it is not possible to link this information to any of our clients.
- If you are one of our customers, Digitanimal has a legitimate interest in keeping you informed about new products and services. We tailor these messages to the types of products and services you have signed up for.
- We may send you newsletters or let you know about prize draws or competitions.
- To safeguard Digitanimal’s legitimate interests, prevent fraud, and maintain the security of our network and associated services.
- To invoice you or collect payment for the use of our products and services, and to contact you if the billing information you provided is out of date, is about to expire, or we are unable to accept payment;
- To comply with a legal obligation, such as fulfilling our accounting and tax obligations, or retaining your traffic data to comply with current legislation on data retention.
- To join our company as a partner, member of staff, contributor, follower, partner organisation, etc.; or simply because you want to stay up to date with our products or services.
- To make or respond to any complaints, suggestions or compliments, or to exercise your ARCO+ rights.
- To carry out customer satisfaction surveys and to assess the impact of our products and services, as well as when you take part in a competition, prize draw or survey.
- To carry out the commercial or collaborative relationships that the company maintains with suppliers.
- We will contact you to keep you up to date with information about the products and services you have with us. For example, changes to our terms and conditions or service disruptions.

How long will we keep the data for?
Digitanimal’s policy is to retain data only for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which we process your data, to fulfil your requests or to comply with legal, administrative or regulatory obligations.
As a general rule, data will be retained for a period not exceeding 5 years from the date on which the purpose for which the data was collected ceases to apply, without prejudice to our right to retain any data necessary for us to assert our rights in court.
After this period, personal data will be blocked from all Digitanimal systems so that it cannot be identified, and will then be deleted.
To whom may we disclose the data?
The data subject’s personal data may be transferred/disclosed to the following recipients:
- Public authorities and bodies, where required by tax, employment, social security or any other applicable legislation.
- Data processors, such as suppliers providing services to Digitanimal (distributors, agents and official Digitanimal product representatives, insurers, travel agencies, risk prevention organisations, etc.). Only the information necessary for the provision of the service is provided, and this is always subject to a contractual requirement to ensure that the information is used solely for the purpose of the service, and for no other purpose, whilst maintaining the necessary security measures.
- There is no international data transfer.
- Data will not be disclosed for any purpose other than those set out here, subject to the exceptions and disclosure obligations laid down by law.
- Under no circumstances does it sell data to third parties.
- Furthermore, we may pass on the data obtained via the installed devices to public authorities and bodies, associations and/or cooperatives for the sole purpose of compiling statistics and producing reports.
How does digitanimal protect personal data?
Digitanimal has implemented the necessary technical measures to maintain the required level of security, in accordance with the nature of the personal data processed and the circumstances of the processing, with the aim of preventing, as far as possible and in line with the state of the art, any alteration, loss, unauthorised processing or unauthorised access. Digitanimal’s premises, files and data processing systems comply with the appropriate protection and security measures in accordance with the nature of the data being processed. In our day-to-day operations, we take all necessary precautions to ensure the highest level of protection.
We require compliance with security measures and the strict application of regulations by all those who have access, or may in future have access, to the physical or virtual locations where we store your data.
Although we do our utmost to ensure compliance, please bear in mind that data transmission over the internet is not entirely secure, so any transmission via this medium is at your own risk.
In the context of social media, using these platforms means that you share information from your social media profile with us. The personal data shared depends on the settings of your social media platform. We advise you to review the privacy policies of these social media platforms. You should exercise caution when providing certain personal data (for example, financial information or your address details). We are not responsible for any actions taken by other people if you post personal data on one of our social media platforms, and we recommend that you do not share such information.
What are your rights regarding personal data?
If you wish to find out what personal data we hold about you, amend it, withdraw your consent (where this forms the legal basis for processing), have it erased, or prevent us from using it for any of the intended purposes, or if you are interested in data portability, you may contact us, providing proof of identity by sending a copy of your national identity card or similar document, our Data Protection Officer at dpd@digitanimal.com or by post at C/ Avenida de Castilla, 1-Office 7B, San Fernando de Henares, 28830, Madrid.
Similarly, if you believe that the processing does not comply with current regulations, you may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority at www.aepd.es.
In addition to the right to information, which we have fulfilled in this document in a transparent and straightforward manner, we would like to inform you of your rights regarding the processing of your personal data; these are:
- Right of access: the right to know whether or not we hold data about you, for what purposes, the source of such data, and whether we have disclosed it to third parties. Requests that are manifestly unfounded, excessive or repetitive may not be dealt with.
- Right to rectification: the right to amend your personal data where it is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Right to erasure (right to be forgotten): the right to have your data erased in certain circumstances. This is not an absolute right, as Digitanimal is obliged to retain certain data for legal or legitimate reasons.
- Right to object: the right to prevent us from processing your data for certain purposes, and to request that we cease doing so; this is only possible in the cases permitted by the regulations.
- Right to restriction of processing: When you exercise this right, we may store your data, but we may not use or process it. This right may only be exercised in certain cases set out in the General Data Protection Regulation. We will only retain your data for the purpose of exercising our legal rights.
- Right to data portability: You have the right to move, copy and transfer your data from our database to another, in a structured, commonly used electronic format, where the processing is based on consent or a contract, and is carried out by automated means.
