Digitanimal participates in the 19th Symposium of the European Grassland Federation
The DiSBA (Department of Biology, Agriculture and Food Sciences) of the Italian National Research Council organized the ISPAAM (Institute for Animal Production in the Mediterranean Environment) on 8 and 10 May 2017 in Alghero (Sardinia, Italy) , The 19th Symposium of the EGF (European Grassland Federation) and Digitanimal was present with a great success of assistance and interest in our system of geolocation and monitoring of livestock.
The main theme of the Symposium was “Use of pastoral resources in the extensive systems for the exploitation of marginal lands: main engines and future scenarios”.
Since farms in extensive systems offer a very good perspective to meet the general expectations in agriculture to increase the quality of food and reduce environmental impacts, the integration of the development of more complex systems that involve a reorganization in the space of the Animals and crops in the environment is, today, more important.
Digitanimal works on this task by facilitating access to animals in extensive systems by our livestock geolocation and monitoring system.
During the Symposium Digitanimal presented the latest animal behavior studies carried out in SERIDA (Asturias, Villaviciosa) through a poster titled: “STEPLA + Project: A tool based on information and communication technologies to monitor the behavior of animals in systems Pastoral “.
